Happy Birthday Google

Happy Birthday Google
It’s Google’s Tenth Birthday. Seems like they’ve achieved all but total world domination (or have they?) in their rapidly growing ten years.
Let’s see of course there’s Google Search, Google documents, Google news, Google chat, Google checkout, Google email, Google labs, Google Advertising and now the Google Phone.
What’s next…the Google credit card? We love you Google, we’re just starting to become very afraid. It’s nice to have so many things tied in together but it’s also scary.
Google is everywhere and now Obama wants “Google for Government”. Obviously that’s a loosely used term…or is it? He meant that he wants to put “government data online”. Or the,
“Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act,” a bill creating “a Google-like search engine and database to track approximately $1 trillion in federal grants, contracts, earmarks and loans.”
So we’re not saying Google is actually going to run the government…yet LOL…but it’s major to be the epitome of something so huge.
Happy B-Day Google…too bad you’re not old enough to vote yet!

Who won the Presidential Debate….

McCain and Obama face off
That’s today’s hot topic. Well, for many it may be a debate over who won. It seems many are disappointed in both parties.
Dismay at McCain’s demeaning remarks to Obama has been evidenced across the net.
Katie Couric calls it a “civil debate” and a “substantive debate” since many topics outside the one scheduled to be discussed were covered. Guiliani says “He [McCain] won a big victory tonight. I think he demonstrated why the American people trust him more as commander in chief.” Ummm, sorry that’s not a mutual feeling. If we get another Republican in office this term, I’ll need to check into moving to another country!
Guiliani also says “He [McCain] demonstrated the lack of knowledge and lack of experience Senator Obama has. It almost sounded like a tutorial on foreign policy.” Wow. He points out that on a number of occasions Senator Obama started his response by saying “You’re right Senator McCain.” Well, at least we know we can count on Obama to be HONEST – I respect that.
Further, just because Obama hasn’t yet had to make “many critical decisions regarding foreign policy” makes no difference here nor there. As Obama states IT’S TIME FOR CHANGE! Maybe that’s what we need, someone fresh. Just because someone is more experienced at something doesn’t make them the better candidate – they can be more experienced and still make bad decisions. Dan Pfeiffer backs me up there and says the same thing (I said it before I heard him say it so it was certainly my own, non-influenced opinion).
Pfeiffer says “for John McCain, it’s experience to what end? Is it experience to lead him to have good judgement? I think we’ve seen he’s not had good judgment, certainly on Iraq where he supported the war. He thought we would be greeted as liberators and he thought oil revenues would pay for themselves.” AMEN! The cost at the gas pump tells the story there and I have to listen to it every time I need gas.
Pfeiffer goes on to further to say “Is it experience that will lead him to have a differing and independent view than George Bush? We didn’t hear anything about that tonight.” And that’s the million dollar question folks!!! He also talks about McCain’s wavering stance on the economy and it’s health – or illness. He points out that Obama was “calm and steady and did not display any of the erratic behavoir that John McCain had over the last ten days.” That’s what happens when you’re honest – you’re able to be calm and steady.
They had uncommited voters listening and reacting to the debate and it’s said that McCain’s numbers went down every time he went after Obama. Nice.
You can check out Katie’s coverage here (link to transcript of the debate is below) that includes viewer questions/answers and more. It also includes the reaction of the uncommited voters and the Iraq war Veterans thoughts and feelings. One of the Vets says “McCain may love Vets but that’s not what I need, I get plenty of that from home! What I need is a politician that will vote for me, vote for my friends, and I don’t think that McCain’s record says that.” You go boy! There’s a great statement in there from another uncommited voter about the bailout and his wanting to know how they are going to protect the lower level people, not only the business etc. OKAY, WE WANT TO KNOW TOO!
Another uncommited voter, from a swing state, points out that Obama makes a great point about how we’ve lost our International clout and in order to regain that we need Obama as President. I couldn’t have said it better!
Obviously supporters of each party are going to support their man and their opinions will be formulated in the best interest of their party for the most part so there’s big support of each side of the debate.
Personally, I don’t care who you think won it – what I care about is that you get out and vote on Nov. 6! Every vote counts and if you sit around and do nothing, you might end up with a President you don’t want. Right now, it counts more than ever to put your vote in. That will determine the state our Nation will be in.
This year’s election could add a historical moment to the books – if Obama wins. But if you don’t vote, things could go south. If you do vote, you could be a part of that history. Please vote.
You can read the transcript of the debate here and you can watch the debate here.
Debate polls indicate that Obama won round 1.

McCain’s Left Eye
Wow, the Internet has been going crazy scurrying to find out what the deal is with McCain’s left eye – some people speculate, among other things, stroke. Well folks, it may not be that exciting – it may just be Bell’s Palsy but nothing has been “confirmed”.
Bell’s Palsy is a facial paralysis that resolves itself. My step-dad had it once.

McCain's left eye
Nothing too serious that we know of guys. But maybe it’s similar to the story of Pinocchio – every time he lied, his nose grew…it’s something weighing McCain’s eye down, lack of vision maybe?

David Blaine Dive of Death Video – he took a dive alright
Wow…David, we are all disappointed – even your biggest fans. WTF was that? You can’t lead the world to believe you’ll be hanging upside down for 60 straight hours and then take hourly breaks, you just can’t. And then you can’t take a ‘dive of death’ with a harness on, no spectalurness, and not even hitting the ground. AND you can’t have the announcer say you disappeared into the night sky when I could have disappeared into the night sky under those conditions too – let’s see it was pitch dark and you had on black clothes! Ugh, this has to be the most disappointing stunt ever.
Granted, I’m sure even with hourly breaks, hanging upside down for that much time still isn’t the best thing for your body but there is nothing fabulous about this stunt and the finish was so wack. A lot of people were bashing you because you have moved into doing more “stunts” than “magic” but I’m still game for that as long as the stunt is impressive. So much anticipation for absolutely nothing. It would have been more impressive if you hung upside down, or took the dive down, with hooks in your back – now that would have entertained us! Criss Angel, I guess it’s up to you to entertain us now!
So, ladies and gents here’s an amateur video of David Blaine’s Dive of Death – I mean Blaine’s Career Dive of Death!
Here’s ABC’s version – you can hear the announcer better but the amateur vid catches it better if you ask me…and you can hear the crowd’s disappointment.
We’ll be keeping updated on any events surrounding this…we’re def curious!

T-Mobile G1 or “the Google Phone” pics and info

T-Mobile G1
Since the iPhone, we’ve all been waiting for other carriers to produce a similar phone. While many changed carriers to get the iPhone, some of us patiently waited because we liked our current carrier (T-Mobile for me).
T-Mobile is bringing us the “G1″, available in the US on October 22 but available for pre-order now.
There are some nice features, obviously, about this phone including the fact that the Google Android Platform will allow users to tailor their phones to their needs and preferences in many more ways than today’s conventional cell phones. It’ll be cool to download apps of our choice to customize our phone much like we do our computer.
As is, it won’t connect to Microsoft’s Exchange service which I don’t understand as this is a phone that will attract many business-ended users even though that may not be the G1’s primary target. Their reasoning is that they expect developers to develop an application to allows the G1 and Microsoft Exchange to work together which I’m sure will happen but that going to suck for those who need that app and want the G1 in the meantime.
Another thing that stuns me is apparently it won’t be able to record video – wtf? You’ve got to be kidding me? Did they forget about this feature when creating the phone or just decide to purposely leave it out like the iPhone- either way that was stupid in the video era we’re in. It’s all about the video these days, I can’t believe it. Especially when they made sure that YouTube users will be able to view YouTube ‘as is’ and it has a video player.
But it has a new mobile music application developed by Amazon for accessing their digital music store. Okay?!
Other positive points:
- touchscreen with scroll/mouse ball for more precise navigation
- can view websites the way you’d view them on your computer at home
- QWERTY keypad
- G3 and WiFi
- GPS
- has some really cool apps (like a barcode scanning app for reading UPC codes and getting instant price comparisons; an app that finds and gets you a cab according to where you’re at; an interactive weather system; and an app that helps you learn how to contribute to the “green” effort based on your current activities and routines) ready for download and developers will be bringing many other apps to the table in time
Other negative points:
- doesn’t support stereo bluetooth or have a 3.5mm jack (means you can’t plug in a regular set of headphones)
- no voIP app – but may be available in the future at a cost
Other notes:
- you’ll need a gmail account to use the G1 – obvious since it’s the “Google Phone” and will come with many Google Apps
- cost is at $179. (must enter a 2 year contract but this is T-Mobile’s norm anyway)
You can see some pretty good close up pics at different angles here.

Jamie Lynn Spears Breastfeeding – one of the top searches…wtf?

You're suspect buddy!
People never cease to amaze me. “Jamie Lynn Spears Breastfeeding” is one of the top searches…closer to the top than many other more important headlines.
It cannot possibly be that titilating? Now if if it was J spears breastfeeding another woman, I can see the frenzy that would ensue…but it’s her baby for goodness sake! And it’s only one breast poking out! Ummmm, and let’s not forget she’s underage…can we say illegal? We’re talking a federal porn investigation! But hey, who am I to judge…to each his own – fetish!
That Wal-Mart employee who stole the pic better be extremely on the DL when they sell that! …or is it, in fact, the baby daddy that took the pics who’s black-marketing them? One can never be too sure. A pic like that will go for a nice price!

Palin Incest Joke is surprising why?

I must admit that's fucking hot! Better stop joking about her!!!
Okay, so there’s lots of chatter, emotion, and defensive stances going around right now over the whole Palin Incest joke…but why?
In this day and age, in a time where media is sprawled across the globe in the forms of not only journalists, but bloggers of every kind, why is everyone still up in arms over it? They know, whether something is true or not, people are going to go after the jugular and make it entertaining. LOL…all I can do is laugh, it’s so amusing and it’s also the kind of stuff that keeps me scanning news and blogs.
Margaret Cho wants to steam up Sarah’s glasses, there’s debate over who the mother of Trig Palin is, SNL produced a skit that has emotions raging, Gov Terminator is upfront that he knows how to have a good time smoking weed with Cheech, reality shows have become our addiction (Real proposed to Hoopz 2 episodes ago…woooowwwwww)…this is what makes the world so great!
And what makes it even more fabulous is that anyone can blog about it!!!! These days everyone is a target and anyone is fair game – get over it, deal with it, or have your doctor prescribe you some Xanax.

Respect for those who keep it real – the Gov made the list!

Arnold knows how to have a good time!
There have been tons of jokes about Arnold Schwarzenegger being Governor and just about the star of “Terminator” in general but you have to respect the man for his honesty!
TMZ posted a video where Arnold confirms a statement made by “Chong” of the infamous “Cheech and Chong” that he and the Gov used to smoke weed together. Damn, that’s better than the old “I didn’t inhale” story!
It’s no huge secret that, among many others, Government representatives have gotten (and in plenty of cases, still, get) their party on in one way or the other…but they hide that part of their lives in their back pocket and portray themselves as being ‘perfect’, pretending they’ve never done anything illegal or anything that society deems as inappropriate.
We all know most everyone has skeletons in their closet…I don’t like ‘perfect’ people so quit pretending to be perfect – we may like you better if you act like you’re human like the rest of us! We also don’t like liars, especially ones that we’re supposed to trust our lives to, so dammit just tell the truth. We’ll applaud you! (and besides that, the definition of the ‘perfect person’ is up for debate!)
So I applaud the Gov for his honesty and saying ‘what the fuck, I’m gonna be real!‘ He says they know how to have a good time…yay Arnold!
